Kunaka Marimba Band have been trained by some of the best musicians in Canada and beyond. One of their great teachers is Mandido, the father of West Coast hand-drumming. Mandido has performed with many historically great artists, one of these being New Orleans legend Dr. John (aka. The Night Tripper). Mandido performed on Dr. Johns historic Gris Gris album.
