The most exciting musical event is Vancouver's musical calendar will occur for ONE NIGHT ONLY on December 2nd at the VANCOUVER EAST CULTURAL CENTER. For one night only SPIRIT OF AFRICA will be presenting the combined talents of Vancouver's huge musical talent in the fusion of two great groups - the acclaimed West African dance group of MIYANDA and the most exciting Afro-Cuban percussion group KUNAKA. This will be Kunaka's first public performance since their stand-out performance at the recent Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Being Vancouver-based and Youth oriented, this combination was a natural - and very enthusiastic blend of marimbas, Djembes and exhuberant dance. If you have seen the record breaking UMOJA tour, you will have an indication of the uplifting experience of witnessing so much talent in one performance!
